Guac-a-dog

 

These hot dogs with a twist are sure to be a game-day favorite. 

Ingredients

  • 4 hot dogs
  • 1 avocado, peeled and pitted
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
  • kosher salt and black pepper
  • 4 hot dog buns, split
  • 4 small romaine lettuce leaves
  • ¼ small red onion, chopped
  • hot sauce for drizzling

Directions

  1. Prepare the hot dogs following package instructions.
  2. In a bowl, mash the avocado and combine it with the lime juice. Sprinkle with ¼ teaspoon each of salt and black pepper.
  3. Set the hot dog buns on a serving dish, and place a hot dog in each.
  4. Top each hot dog with the lettuce, avocado mixture and onion. For an extra kick, sprinkle with hot sauce.

Kickin’ chicken wings

 

 

Full of flavor and grilled, these wings are ready to make their watch-party debut.

Ingredients

  • 8 chicken wings (about 1 ½ pounds), halved through the joint
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons seafood seasoning
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • ranch dressing, for dipping

Directions

  1. Heat grill until it reaches a medium heat setting. In a bowl, combine and toss the wings, olive oil and 1 teaspoon of seasoning. Grill the wings uncovered, and turn over to cook the other side. Grill for 15 to 20 minutes until cooked through.
  2. In another bowl, mix the last teaspoon of seafood seasoning with the butter. Add the wings to the mixture and toss. Serve with ranch dressing.

Guiltless Baked Sweet Potato

 

This flavorful option is sure to satisfy the vegetarians of the bunch.

Ingredients

  • 4 large sweet potatoes
  • 2 tablespoons canola oil
  • kosher salt and black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • ¼ cup chopped pecans, toasted
  • ¼ cup chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley leaves
  • 4 ounces fresh goat cheese, crumbled (about 1 cup)
  • green salad, for serving

Directions

  1. Heat oven until it reaches 400° F. Brush sweet potatoes using canola oil, and add ¼ teaspoon of salt. Using a rimmed baking sheet, bake for 40 to 50 minutes until tender.
  2. Split each potato open, and sprinkle with olive oil. Add ½ teaspoon of salt and pepper.
  3. Complete the loaded sweet potatoes by adding avocado, pecans, parsley and goat cheese on top.
  4. Dress the dish with a salad.
